Mrs. Carrie Young of Good Hope Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Young, 61, of Good Hope were scheduled for this afternoon at the Sargent Funeral Home. The Rev. Glen Garvin was to officiate and burial was in Good Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Young died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday at McDonough District Hospital where she had been a patient one day. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Mrs. Young was born in LaHarpe on March 16, 1901, a daughter of Thomas and Cordelia Milton Smith. On May 14, 1922, she married Emery C. Young. He died Sept. 5, 1958. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are five children, John T. Young of Macomb, Mrs. Moneta Mathena of Macomb, Eugene Young of Macomb, Dean Young of Good Hope and Mrs. Marlene Louderman of Colchester; 5 grandchildren; one brother, Dewey Smith of El Paso and One sister, Mrs. Truman (Edith) Fisher of Bushnell. One son, Emery C. Young Jr.; two brothers, Orville and Julian Smith; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Lomas, preceded her in death. |
