- Per pension file, at time of death Allen largely bed ridden. Could walk only with support. Intermittent sight, mostly blind. Affidavit by Dr. J. P Warren 3 Feb 1928 states Allen suffered from "senility, arteriosclerosis and high blood pressure." Reports of piles, sciatica, and intestinal problems throughout the record.
