"Avis A. Kaylor, 81, 2445 Old State Road 67 West, died May 12, 1993, at 1:50 a.m., at Morgan County Memorial Hospital. The daughter of LeRoy and Nellie Lucas Grounds, she was born Jan. 3, 1912, in Indianapolis. Mrs. Kaylor had been a laundry worker at Morgan County Memorial Hospital for 20 years and then at Home Laundry in Bloomington. She retired in 1974. She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church on West Highland Street. Survivors include one son, William E. Kaylor, Martinsville; four daughters, Nellie A. Brummett, Geraldine Cummings and Janet S. Brown, all of Martinsville, and Roberta L. Miller, Monrovia; one sister, Glen Abbott, Mooresville; 16 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. One son, Victor Kaylor; two brothers, William and Dennis Grounds; one sister, Gladys Creighton; and one grandson are deceased. Brother Perry Quakenbush and Sister Betty Quakenbush Hunt will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Friday at Cure & Hensley-Costin Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Hilldale Cemetery." |
