  	An story on findagrave.com states circa 1905 Sarah wrote to her Congressman and had a post office established in a little room attached to her home off of Trotting Ridge Road near Drowning Creek. In addition to managing the mail, she often filled out forms for semi-literate "country folks" in the area.
  		Obituary: Mrs Sarah Newman 1944 "RICHMOND, Ky., Aug. 15 (Special)-Mrs. Sara Jane Rogers Newman, 76, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at the home of a son, Walter C. Newman, in Franklin, Ind., where she was visiting. Mrs. Newman made her home with her sister, Mrs. Brutus Motley, in Richmond. Besides her son and sister she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Mattie Kaylor, Martinsville, Ind.; Mrs. Zadie McMaine, Bybee; Mrs. Preston White, New Middletown, Ind., and Mrs. Forest Moore, Frankfort; a brother, S. J. Rogers, Martinsville, Ind., and several grand-children, seven of whom are in the armed forces. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Turpin funeral home here. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Winston in Estill county.
