Andrew and Ida Hoskinsin house 1946 "OLD HOUSES are hard to find on Bainbridge. Andrew Anderson, a Swedish sailor who "jumped ship" and settled on the island in early days, and his wife, Ida Hoskinson Anderson, daughter of the "weather man," carried the boards for this home on their backs more than four miles from the head of Eagle Harbor to Island Center. Their son, Ralph, still lives in the house and uses the original well, which once had sweep and an oaken bucket." |
