Marion Fisher ill w tonsilitis 1913
"Marion Fisher has been very ill with tonsilitis, but at this writing is improving rapidly. His throat was lanced." Sadly did not prove true. One day after this article was written he was diagnosed with diphtheria and died suddenly.Death 17 Jan 1913 Burlingame, Osage Co., KS [2, 3]
- "Marion Fisher, the sixteen-year-old son of Mr. and Mre. Joe Fisher who formerly lived north of town, died at their home in the McCutchecn property last Friday night. The boy was sick for several days with what was thought to be toneilitis but on Thursday symptoms of diphtheria were manifest. Anti-toxin was administered and in operation performed on the throat to relieve the difficult breathing. Death resulted at 10:30 p. m. after great suffering."
Obituary: Marion Fisher 1913. Sad death of Marion Fisher 1913 Burial 18 Jan 1913 Burlingame Community Cemetery, Burlingame, Osage Co., KS [2, 3]
- "Precautionary measures as to quarantine and a private funeral were taken."
- "The funeral, of course, was private to the extreme. There are no other cases of the dread disease in the city, and every precaution is being taken that there shall be none." Suggests that sadly he was mourned at the grave site by very few if any.
