    Francis Eugene "Tuffy" Young 71, Macomb, died at 9:12 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at McDonough District Hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Good Hope, the son of Emory C. and Carrie Mae (Smith) Young. He married Patricia A. Coker Sept. 4, 1959, at the Methodist Church, Bardolph. She survives.

    He is also survived by one daughter, Kimberly Young, Chicago; one son, Kevin (Kelly) Young, Prairie City; two grandchildren, Gavin and McKenna Young, Prairie City; two sisters, Moneta Mathena, Macomb, and Marlene Louderman, Colchester; two brothers, Dean (Martha) Young, Good Hope, and Jack (Barbara) Young, Macomb; and numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful friend Rocky. He was preceded in death by one brother, Emory C. Young Jr.

    He was of the Methodist faith. He was a 42-year member of the Macomb Elks Lodge 1009 and a member of the National Rifle Association. He worked at Porcelain Products and NTN Bower in Macomb and Gale Products in Galesburg and the Illinois Department of Transportation for 17 years. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and camping with his friends.

    Services were held Tuesday Dec. 31, 2002, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Macomb. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb.

    Memorials may be made to the McDonough County Health Department or the Macomb Elks Crippled Children's Fund.

    Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
