    Dorothy E. Cox, 92, Macomb, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at her residence.

    She was born Nov. 22, 1911, in Emmett Township, McDonough County, the daughter of Owen and Clara (Heaton) Barker. She married Spencer Cox Sept. 24, 1932, in Gladstone. He preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1989.

    He is survived by one son, Loren (Bonnie) Cox, Burnside; two daughters, Judy (Earl) Allen, Plymouth, and Sheryl (Mike) Klassing, Metamora; eight grandchildren, Deby Holtschlag, Quincy, Diane Jungles, Hamilton, Denise Becker, Beardstown, Doran Cox, Burnside, Darin Allen, Plymouth, Derick Allen, Wildwood, Mo., Jonathan and Ryan Klassing, Metamora; cousins and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmie Dan; one daughter, Linda Jane; and one brother, Emmett Barker.

    She attended Sciota Elementary School, Sciota and graduated from Good Hope High School, Good Hope. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with their farming which they began in Emmett Township. They moved to Burnside in 1950. Retiring in 1970, they moved to Mountain Home, Ark. After living there several years they moved to Quincy and returned to Macomb in 1986. She was a member of the Burnside Christian Church.

    Funeral services were held Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home, Macomb, with Mark Pettit officiating.

    Burial was at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb.

    Memorials may be made to the Burnside Christian Church or Maple Avenue Christian Church, Macomb.
