    Text Clarence R. Ancelet

    Clarence R. Ancelet, 87, of Carthage, Ill., died at noon Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.

    Born April 28, 1921, in Basco, Ill., he was the son of Charles F. and Clara Launer Ancelet. He married Alvena Wichman, who preceded him in death.

    Mr. Ancelet was a farmer and loved the outdoors. He hunted foxes and trapped mink with his brothers as a young man and enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as playing the harmonica.

    Survivors include one daughter, Judith Reese of Ames; three sons, Gary Ancelet of Bellingham, Wash., Richard Ancelet of Menomonee Falls, Wis., and Charles Ancelet of Norway, Iowa; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Besides his wife, he was precede in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

    Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ill.

    A graveside funeral for Mr. Ancelet is at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at South Cemetery in Basco, with Pat Monroe officiating.

    A memorial has been established.
