Ronald Dean Young

Ronald Dean Young, 70, Good Hope, died at 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at The Elms Nursing Home, Macomb. He was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Good Hope, the son of Emory C. and Carrie Mae (Smith) Young. He married Martha Lewis Aug. 14, 1950. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven (Jody) Young and Ronald Young Jr., both of Macomb; one daughter, Catherine (Mike) Murphy, Macomb; three grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel and Patrick Murphy; one brother, Jack (Barbara) Young, Macomb; two sisters, Moneta Mathena, Macomb and Marlene Louderman, Colchester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emory Young, Jr. and Francis Eugene “Tuffy” Young.
He was a member of the Good Hope United Methodist Church, Macomb Elks Lodge 1009. He formerly worked at Brown Motors, Macomb, was a farmer and an agent/jobber for Standard Oil Company. He owned Young Oil Company, Good Hope, until 1996.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Sargent-WOrthington Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen King and Rev. Algie Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The Elms Nursing Home, Elks Crippled Children’s Fund or the Good Hope Fire Department.
